This concentrated sachet of Nixwax Tent and Gear Solar Proof helps prolong the life of your gear by protecting it from the harsh effects of UV rays. The synthetic textiles used to manufacture tents and backpacks are coated with a water repellent treatment that UV rays destroy, weakening the fabric's tear strength. The simple application of Nikwax Concentrated Tent & Gear SolarProof® can double the life span of your equipment by slowing down this damage, while at the same time providing a durable water repellency to keep the rain out.  Most modern tents and backpacks are made using synthetic fabrics, such as nylon or polyester, with a thin watertight polyurethane or elastomeric coating on the inside and a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating on the outside. Unfortunately the fabrics are vulnerable to UV rays and in 2 weeks of continuous exposure have been known to lose up to half of their tearing strength.  Nikwax Concentrated Tent & Gear SolarProof® protects the entire fabric from the effects of both UV and water.
