Cold War Era East German Flight Helmet - Oltn. Lindner

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a hard to find 1970s issue East German or Eastern Block flying helmet with integrated internal ear cup receivers and throat microphone. It has a unique shape and silhouette with molded ear covers and wide front and rear leather trimmed edges. Size is approximately 56cm

The most notable German pilot by this name is Anton Lindner (1917–1994), a highly decorated World War II Luftwaffe ace and recipient of the Knight's Cross. He was an Oberleutnant (First Lieutenant) and later an Oberstleutnant (Colonel) in the postwar German Air Force.
Aerial Victories: He was officially credited with 73 aerial victories.
Combat Record: He flew 650 combat missions, achieving 72 of his victories on the Eastern Front.
Awards: He received the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, one of Nazi Germany's highest military decorations.
Postwar Career: He joined the reconstituted German Air Force in 1956, serving until his retirement in 1972.
