The forged 1055 carbon steel mattock head features a broad adze blade on one side for digging, trenching, and chopping through roots, while the pointed pick on the opposite side is ideal for breaking hard-packed soil, rocky ground, or prying stubborn material. Finished with a durable powder coating, the head offers added corrosion resistance and reduced glare in the field.
A genuine Tennessee hickory handle provides excellent strength, natural shock absorption, and a comfortable grip, making the Chogan well-balanced and easy to control during demanding work. The head is securely attached with a traditional wooden wedge, allowing for dependable performance and straightforward maintenance.
