The first aviator style sunglasses were contracted by the US military in 1935 and made by American Optical. Originally designed to be worn under headgear, these sunglasses consist of the classic thin metal arms, flexible cables for around the ear comfort, and reflective, convex lenses that attempt to cover the entire field of vision of the human eye and significantly reduce the amount of transmitted visible ultraviolet light entering the eye from any angle. Perfect for hunting, camping, hiking and fishing.
