These Lumostar mantles are compatible with Coleman gas lanterns and come in a pack of three. 

To first use the mantle, burn the mantle without turning the gas on. These mantles generate a bright white light when heated by a flame. Sold as fabrics such as silk/artificial silk/rayon because of its mix with metal nitrates. The metal oxides produces the light from the heat and has a combustion process by keeping flame small and inside itself at high fuel flow rates. The combustion inside improves the transfer the heat from flame to the mantle. The mantle shrinks fabric and becomes fragile after the first use.
